Rocky Mountain High

As all of you know we are leaving the East Coast to go to the Mountains. I always thought I would stay in Pa forever with my family and friends until one day my best friend moved to Colorado Springs, Co and asked me to come visit her. The minute I stepped off the plane in August 2003 I fell in love with it. The view of the Rocky Mountains was breat taking. I spent a week there sight seeing and decided at that moment in time that someday I would live there. I always told my husband that is where I wanted to settledown and raise the kids. He could never imagine how beautiful it was there because he had never seen it in person. Then in July 2005 I decided to take a road trip with Marissa, Patrick and Maria and drove out there myself. It took me 28 hours straight through with no sleep. The excitement of doing a drive cross county for the first time kept me going along with the thrill of just doing it. I came home and again I told Bill I wanted to move there. In June 2006 he decided to take the road trip with me at the end of our trip we came home and he decided that he too wanted to move there. He fell in love with the state on the first visit. 6 months later he decided to quit his job and just go. He got a new job withing 2 days and has been there ever since. We sold our house in pa and bought a house in Colorado Springs, Co. I have always had dreams but this dream is coming true. My children are so excited to move to a big single home something we have never had or thought we could never afford. I won't have family there but my best friend is there so I won't be alone in a state so far out. We will be on our way June 4th 2007 for our new adventure to our new home state. I will deeply miss my daughter Marissa who means so much to me but as far as that goes she has grown into a young woman and has dreams of her own and has so many things that she wants to do and my custody battle with her dad was just holding her back so I felt it was time to let go so we can both fulfill our dreams. I will post pictures of our new home once we are there and settled in and maybe someday our friends and family will come to see what we have accomplished. I will also miss my family and friends in pa but this is a good way to keep in touch.
