final touches of lower bathroom completed

WELL THE FINAL TOUCHES HAVE BEEN ADDED TO THE LOWER BATHROOM BY PUTTING IN THE BATH FIXTURES SUCH AS THE RACKS FOR THE TOWELS AND A SHELF THAT WE HAD NOW THE BATHROOM LOOKS LIKE A BATHROOM AND IT VERY INVITING COMPARED TO LOOKING LIKE IT SHOULD BE CONDEMNED AND GUTTED.

here is maria and pat after 1st week of school

sorry i lacked on 1st day of school pics but with being sick it was the last thing on my mind but i always do the pics and here are pat and maria since i already took william's. patrick loves high school and he went to his 1st dance at school last week william loves middle school and maria is loving 3rd grade. all the kids have adjusted well to their new schools and maria has no adjustment with school since she is still in the same one patrick has his driving book and is studying it so when feb comes when he turns 15 he can start drivers ed classes how fast they grow up.

lower bathroom done

this is what it now looks like

well the lower bathroom is pretty much done except for some little things like towel racks the painting is done the new walls in and the new floor is in we used the left overs from the dining room but ran out so we have a few more spots to finish on the floor.as you can see this is what the floor looked like before hand. now this bathroom feels like a bathroom and is welcoming to use as to before no one wanted to use it. It is amazing how much we did to this house in a year it does not even look like the same house and all we are doing is using left overs from other rooms why put good things to waste. I save all leftovers cause i feel someday day i can use them and sure enough they are being used. my dad taught me that one never to throw away screws or paint or parts not needed because someday you will find use for them.

reorganized maria's room

we reorganized maria's room and took her bunk beds and split them between her room and william's new room since the bunk set someone gave us was missing too many parts plus by doing that it gave them alot of room space and since maria loves her music we had a computer that was built for her from parts and put that in her room her room looks

much better now and we threw out 5 garbage bags full of junk and her closet now holds her 2 doll cribs and her blow up chair. we took the shelving cubicles out and placed them in her corner and organized them and she is down to one mesh toy box that is between her bed and computer desk. we are almost done with williams room we just need to paint the walls his way and then we will take pics.

progress on lower bathroom

we decided to go with a different look instead of the old boring one color on the bottom and white on the top we got creative and decided to stripe the top still more painting to go and drywall to go go where the vent is but the major part of the bathroom will be done

lower bathroom remodel and front yard makeover

along the sidewalk from the mailbox down is where 3 overgrown junipers once sat

here is the front yard 1 year ago it was over grown with bushes and weeds then bill took the bushes out and we had stumps left over the summer he removed all 8 stumps and filled in the holes left from the removal and then there was just a front yard full of dirt no grass because we had no grass so he threw grass seeds down and now we have grass growing finally we have been wanting grass in the front for a year now but could not do anything until the bushes and stumps were gone and that is a process in itself. by next year the front will look normal since winter will be here we have the sprinkler going everyday to keep the grass going until the snow rolls in. we still have some patches of dirt throughout but that will eventually fill itself in as the grass grows but it looks alot better than it did

here are pictures as the work is being done I will post final results when it is all finished the bathroom was in horrible shape before hand and we used most of the stuff we had around to complete this project except for 2 sheets of drywall in the ceiling there was a light cover used for florescent lighting but now the light fixture has been lowered and brought through the drywall originally there was old rusted and bent up drop ceiling track with missing ceiling tiles and now it has been totally changed over. we are using left over paint that we had from other projects that we did last year so by the time we are done with this project it only cost us the price of 2 sheets of drywall and 1 tub of spakle cause no one looked to see if we had some when we did lol as you can see there is still some drop ceiling left that will be replaced with drywall we still have left over and the shower will also be done the same way. this bathroom was in horrible looks from previous leaks that were fixed so walls had to be ripped out which is where the green drywall is. when it is done it will be two tone color.
